The two room school in old West Shokan, demolished to make way for the Ashokan Reservoir. This school attracted students from a large area. It replaced an earlier school called "The Swamp Academy". It's successor was built in the new village of West Shokan along Rt. 28a and that was also demolished to make room for the Olive Free Library.
